POPCORN!

I can't believe I've never posted before about popcorn. This needs to be given attention immediately.

I am so addicted to popcorn...!

I have it something like 3 times a week. I make it the old-fashioned way, on the stove with oil. That's the best way. Microwave popcorn is ok in a pinch (I used to keep some on hand just in case) but air-popped popcorn completely loses its valor. I have it with some butter (not much), a sprinkle of salt, and brewer's yeast (I have posted about this before, it's a nutritional supplement that hippies use for flavoring and I learned from my hippie parents that it goes well on popcorn). The Studly Hubby doesn't love popcorn like I do. He doesn't hate it either, so when I make it, he usually eats it willingly. Which is good because I really like to make double batches so that it fills up the whole quart pan I use and starts to lift the lid off when it's just finishing up. Watching popcorn pop is the perfect way to spend an evening.

Your cousins are big popcorn fans. They get annoyed when I take popcorn out of the bowl by the handful, because their hands aren't as big as mine.

Bruce has avuncular hands and an avuncular appetite. I'm waiting for Noah to come back so I can make some popcorn & sit him down to a movie. We'll do this 'til about May. Mostly those free movies you get from cutting up the back of cacklin' oat bran cereal.

Bruce - I think it runs in the family!! Or we're a really smart family...

Eric - oh, my! I need to start categorizing my posts so I can be more wary of this problem, I wouldn't want to lose my strong fan base because I keep repeating myself!

Dad - Your popcorn is the BEST! and I like how you always serve it with brewer's yeast and a mug full of water, without even asking because it's just the natural way of things

I don't even know where to get brewer's yeast around here. It could have something to do with the shocking lack of hippies.

I have always liked parmesan cheese on popcorn. Not good grate-it-yourself parmesan, but the horrible Kraft stuff in the big green can. The only good use for the dusty parmesan like substance that we could ever think of.

Mmm, I love popcorn too! When I was in high school, my mom and I would pop a bag every few afternoons and watch "Judge Judy." So hilarious -- she mistakenly called Act II's (?) Butter Lovers popcorn "Better" Lovers, and we still give her crap for it, years later.

I want to try your curious concoction with Brewer's yeast sometime!

Time to take a break
